Dele Alli has come a long way since his England Under-19 days.
It has been a wonderful first season at White Hart Lane for 19-year-old Alli, who has netted seven times and set up another 10 to establish himself as a key player for Spurs.
His form has also resulted in a senior England debut, having previously represented the youth teams, and he is heavily expected to travel to France for this summer's Euro 2016.
Cook, who is the same age as Alli, was recently called up to the Three Lions' Under-19 squad for games with Georgia, Spain and Greece, and the Whites midfielder claims that he and his young colleagues view Alli as an example of what could be possible in the future.
“Everyone is looking up to Dele Alli, he has done really good”, he said on LUTV, via Inside Futbol. “We want to replicate that as a young player. He’s someone we’ll try and be like.
“He has made that jump and obviously he’s very comfortable there. So we know it’s possible.”
Alli announced himself to the senior set-up in style by scoring a long-range wonder goal in a 2-0 friendly win over France in October, and manager Roy Hodgson will hope for similar age-belying feats in this summer's finals.
