Pochettino has made Tottenham into title contenders, despite not having vast amounts of money to spend since he took over.
Redknapp feels that the Argentine boss may well want to be backed with more money this summer, but he has warned that Tottenham need to be clever in their spending, as the squad only needs some tweaking.
“Mauricio will want money to spend, but they don’t need many more players,” Redknapp said. “Spurs are probably after another striker as cover for Harry Kane and maybe would like one more attacking player, but they aren’t really short of anything.
“It’s easy to go and buy a load of average players — United have done that. Spurs just need to do some fine-tuning in the summer. Keeping the manager is the most important thing — and Mauricio should be there for years to come.”
Tottenham have one of the strongest squads in the Premier League, and there is an expectation that the longer Pochettino can keep them together, the better they will become.
Spurs have tended to bring in youngsters throughout Pochettino’s time in charge so far, and they have shown great faith by putting them straight into their starting line-up.
Pochettino has generally been cautious in the market - and he has only brought in players to enhance the squad, meaning that wholesale changes are unlikely in the summer.
Spurs are thought to be actively looking to bring in a striker, though, and they have pursued West Bromwich Albion’s Saido Berahino in previous transfer windows.
