Gary O'Neil reacts on Twitter to Mark Noble snub, prefers him to Drinkwater

Mark Noble

The Norwich midfielder believes the West Ham skipper should have made the England squad instead of the Leicester man.

Norwich City midfielder Gary O'Neil feels West Ham United captain Mark Noble deserves an England place ahead of Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater.

Roy Hodgson has picked Drinkwater in his Three Lions squad to face Germany and the Netherlands, delighting those backing the Leicester man.

But that has left the Hammers faithful frustrated as West Ham skipper Noble goes overlooked once again.

And Norwich midfielder O'Neil has taken to Twitter making it clear he prefers Noble over Drinkwater:

As a former West Ham midfielder, O'Neil may be biased, of course.

Many won't begrudge Drinkwater his call-up, meanwhile, with Leicester fans no doubt overjoyed the 26-year-old has been rewarded for helping the Foxes build a five-point lead at the top of the Premier League.

As for Norwich, Leicester's success may serve as motivation for the Canaries. This time last year, the Midlands side were also fighting relegation - and are now challenging for the title.
