Farhad Moshiri is expected to invest a great deal of funds into Everton over the coming years.
Everton manager Roberto Martinez has joked at his press conference earlier today, which was broadcast by Everton’s official Youtube channel, that new investor Farhad Moshiri wasn’t entirely satisfied with the Toffees’ 2-0 win over Chelsea in the FA Cup.
Moshiri became Everton’s new majority shareholder last month, and he is expected to inject a great deal of cash into the club.
At the moment he is still trying to gain a greater understanding of the Merseyside club, but he was in attendance when Everton made it into the FA Cup semi-final.
The Toffees’ performance against Chelsea was highly encouraging, with Romelu Lukaku scoring a brace to book Martinez’s side’s place at Wembley.
While most the crowd at Goodison Park went home delighted, it seems that Moshiri wasn’t fully convinced by Everton’s performance.
“He wasn’t happy with the 2-0 win,” Martinez joked. “He wanted a 4 or 5-0 win, and you can already see that he standards are going to be very high!”
Martinez and Moshiri have only had a brief conversation so far, but the Spanish boss has already stated that he hopes to form a strong connection with the billionaire businessman in the coming weeks.
Martinez already enjoys a great bond with Everton chairman Bill Kenwright, but it seems that he still has some work to do to entirely win over Moshiri entirely.
