West Ham United beat Liverpool's youngsters 3-2 in the Premier League Cup yesterday evening.

Co-owner David Gold has congratulated West Ham United’s under 21 side for winning in the Premier League Cup against Liverpool last night.

West Ham made it through to the final of the cup competition yesterday, by beating Liverpool 3-2 in extra-time.

The Hammers will now meet Hull City in the final, and Gold was delighted to see his side’s youngsters progress.

West Ham had to come from behind to claim victory over the Reds youngsters, after Pedro Chirivella put the Merseyside club into the lead.

Doneil Henry struck an equaliser in normal time to ensure that an extra 30 minutes had to be played to separate the two teams.

The extra-time was a dramatic period, with three goals being scored. First, Marcus Browne put the Hammers into the lead, before Sheyi Ojo levelled the scores again.

It was then up to Stephen Hendrie to bag the winner, with the full-back smashing in a long-range strike to seal his team’s progress.

West Ham’s youngsters were equally as delighted as Gold with the result, with many of them celebrating on social media after.
