Celtic's Erik Sviatchenko names this Tottenham player as the best he's ever played with

Celtic Stands

The Denmark defender admits it was a difficult choice.

They're the same age, have been playing in the same teams for the past seven years and now Erik Sviatchenko has named Tottenham Hotspur's Christian Eriksen as the best player he's ever played with.

In a Q&A session on Tuesday, Sviatchenko told Celtic's official Twitter feed "it's so difficult to say", before adding: "but I would have to go for Christian Eriksen".

The two Denmark internationals made their under-18 debuts in April 2009 and have been teammates at various other age groups up to senior level, where Sviatchenko made his long-awaited debut last year.

The centre-back then followed Eriksen to the UK, joining the Bhoys from FC Midtjylland in January, and has got off to a solid start at Parkhead - losing just one of his first six league matches.

Sviatchenko has some way to go before he can reach Eriksen's stature within the game, however, with the midfielder a three-time Danish player of the year.

The Spurs number 23 has scored or assisted 14 goals in this season's Premier League, and could crown another stellar individual campaign with the first title of his White Hart Lane career.

Eriksen, a 2013 signing from Ajax, has helped the Lilywhites to second in the standings with eight games remaining.
