Photo: Jurgen Klopp at Old Trafford, but not as Manchester United fans imagined

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp led the Reds out for a training session at the home of Manchester United.

Jurgen Klopp strolls around an empty Old Trafford, shaking hands with the staff.

This was surely as Manchester United fans had imagined it, after he was touted by The BBC as a potential replacement for Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013.

Except for one key detail. Last night he was wearing a Liverpool badge on his coat, and accompanied by a team full of stars.

Klopp elected to go for the full Europa League experience, by staying in Manchester and training the squad at Old Trafford, an option Louis van Gaal declined for the Red Devils last week at Anfield.

On Thursday night, Klopp will lead Liverpool out in front of a packed Old Trafford, and with the chance of him managing United well and truly gone.

Last week he oversaw Van Gaal's first loss to Liverpool, with the Reds winning the first leg of their Europa League fixture 2-0 at Anfield, crucially keeping a clean sheet.

This gives Liverpool an edge for the second leg, and Klopp will hope the preparation and familiarising themselves with Old Trafford will give them a further boost to qualify for the quarter-finals of the competition.
