Martin Skrtel made his comeback from injury last night, featuring for Liverpool's under-21 side against West Ham.
Selected as an overage player, he was hoping to guide them to through the FA Premier League under-21 Cup semi-final, but it ended in disaster.
Liverpool had gone 1-0 up through Pedro Chirivella, only for the Hammers to peg them back and force extra-time.
That's when it started to go wrong. Skrtel was sent off for a second booking, and Liverpool exited the cup, losing 3-2 after the extra time had been played.

The centre-back was no doubt asked to set an example to the younger players and not step out of line, so it was pretty unfortunate that he ended up being dismissed.
It was one of those moments which left Liverpool fans not knowing whether to laugh or cry. Here is a look at how supporters reacted on Twitter...

The good news for Liverpool? Well, Skrtel came through the game without injury and will be available for the remainder of the season.
He is not expected involved with the Europa League squad, with the team already travelling to Manchester for tomorrow's last 16 second leg at Old Trafford.
