Leicester City team-mate Marc Albrighton believes Danny Drinkwater should be one of the first names in England squad

The pair are both being tipped for England.

Leicester City's fantastic season has seen growing calls for some of their English players to receive international recognition.

Jamie Vardy is already involved in the squad but there is now a lot of talk regarding midfielder Danny Drinkwater. The former England youth player has been outstanding in central midfield for Leicester this season and is believed to be on Roy Hodgson's mind.

One other Leicester player who has been more tentatively linked with an England call-up is Marc Albrighton. The former Aston Villa star has been speaking about his team-mates chances of an England call-up - as reported by the Belfast Telegraph:

"I don't see why not. He has been fantastic for us, he has really come into his own. If people are going to be picked on form then he should be one of the first names on the squad list."

Drinkwater's inclusion for the upcoming friendlies with Germany and the Netherlands would not come as a shock given his current form.

He was outstanding in the recent 1-0 win at Newcastle United but he has been in such form all season - so Leicester fans are not surprised at the clamour for an England nod.

Drinkwater, who represented England at under-18 and under-19 level, recently turned 26 so is nowhere near past it in regards to an England call-up.

Leicester fans will be hoping their midfield maestro gets the recognition he deserves for his recent good form.
