Gerry Francis credits Saido Berahino as the reason behind West Brom's recent good form

The West Brom striker has had a controversial season.

West Bromwich Albion are currently one of the in form teams in England. They are unbeaten in their last four Premier League games, a run of form that has seen them climb to 11th in the Premier League table.

Impressive wins away to Everton and at home to Manchester United, as well as a 3-2 win over Crystal Palace and an impressive draw at league leaders Leicester City have been excellent results for The Baggies.

West Brom now look very safe in regards to relegation and will even have one eye on a potential top-half finish.

One of the club's first-team coaches has been discussing just why they are in such good form of late. Gerry Francis was on Sky Sports News HQ earlier today (16/03/2016) and he believes the return to form and fitness of Saido Berahino has played a massive role in their recent success:

"The way we have bounced back from there (FA Cup exit v Reading) has been excellent.

"Obviously three goals against Palace, went to Leicester and drew there 2-2, then obviously beat Manchester United. As you say, one defeat in seven (league games).

"I think it has coincided really with Saido Berahino coming back to real form and back in the team. It's made a difference with Solomon (Rondon) up front in terms of linking up together.

"The team have bounced back really well and played some really good stuff."

Of course Berahino's season has been blighted by the continuous talk about his future - amid heavy interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

West Brom have held firm on the player, which has often seen him at loggerheads with the club hierarchy.

But he seems to be more at peace with his Hawthorns stay at the moment - which has seeing his own and the team's form markedly improve.

West Brom fans will certainly hope Berahino can continue his good recent form.
