Thomas Tuchel predicts 'success is coming' for Tottenham.

Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel has told a press conference that he thinks success is on the way for Tottenham, as quoted by ESPN.

Dortmund meet Spurs at White Hart Lane on Thursday night a week after Tuchel watched his side obliterate Tottenham with a 3-0 win at Signal Iduna Park.

Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang and a Marco Reus brace handed Dortmund a 3-0 first leg lead in their Europa League clash, leaving Spurs with a huge mountain to climb on Thursday night.

Much has been made of Mauricio Pochettino's decision to rest some first-team players for that first leg, with the Spurs boss prioritising Sunday's game against Aston Villa - a game which Tottenham won 2-0 as their push for the Premier League title continues.

Spurs have been trying to balance their Premier League and Europa League commitments, and it became clear last week that Pochettino is focusing more on the Premier League right now after a stunning campaign so far.

Now, Borussia Dortmund boss Tuchel has been quoted by ESPN as saying that he predicts success on the way for Tottenham after impressing so much with Pochettino this season.

Tuchel also drew similarities between Dortmund and Spurs for their current league situations, as well as their attacking styles and aggressive defending, meaning Thursday's game should still be an intriguing one, despite the first leg scoreline.

"There are some similar situations," said Tuchel. "We are both second and five points behind. Of course, with Pochettino came a clear way to play, a clear attacking side with a lot of possession. A very aggressive style of defending, a lot of attacking in the opponents half, high defending."

"These are things Dortmund were famous for in the last few years. But we also developed and tried to reach new levels. Everybody has to find their way. Tottenham are finding their own style and not trying to imitate anything else."

"You have to find your own way in the league you play and in the cup games and of course in Europe. They have an excellent coach and squad. Success is coming. We will see where it ends. We have our own way and our own level which we try to put higher and higher," he added.
