Aiden McGeady has told Sheffield Wednesday’s official site that he still feels he has far more to offer the club.
McGeady, by his own admission, put in his best performance for the Yorkshire side so far last weekend, when he scored during the Owls’ 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
However, the 29-year-old Everton loanee insists that he is just getting started at Wednesday, as he looks to develop his match sharpness.
“The Forest performance was my best for the club but that comes with playing games," he said. "I had been out for almost a year and I was always going to go through a patch like I have where things don’t quite go for you.
“But I’ve got far more to give to this team and plenty of time to do it.”
McGeady had played just once for Everton prior to his switch to Wednesday, so it is perhaps understandable that he made a slow start at Hillsborough.
The winger has now played eight times for the Owls, though, and his performance against Forest highlighted his quality.
McGeady was a constant menace against the Reds, as he tormented the Midlands side’s defence throughout the contest.
McGeady is now likely to retain his place in Wednesday’s line-up for the weeks ahead, with Carlos Carvalhal’s side’s next match coming against Charlton Athletic.
