Everton are set to invest heavily in their squad in the summer transfer window.
Manager Roberto Martinez has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show on TalkSPORT that Everton are already identifying targets ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Toffees have new investment from Farhad Moshiri, and they are expected to spend big in the summer to improve their squad.
Martinez admits that he is already making plans ahead of the next transfer window, but he does not want to forget about the quality of the players already at Goodison Park.
"You always do that," Martinez said, when asked if he was identifying targets for the summer. "Sometimes at the end, you realise that’s a price you can’t go into. It’s like going into a shop, you always get attracted to the best products.
"It’s a new era for us at the football club, but we already have one of the most exciting young squads in European football."
Moshiri’s investment means that Everton now have the financial muscle to compete with England’s leading sides.
The Toffees will also be hoping to keep hold of their better players - with the likes of John Stones, Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku all likely to be in demand.
If Everton can keep hold of their current squad and bring in extra quality, it will ramp up the pressure on Martinez next season.
The Toffees have underperformed this term, and currently sit in 12th place in the Premier League table, and a similar mid-table finish is unlikely to be accepted next time around.
