Liverpool will take on United away from home at Old Trafford in the second leg of the last-16 tie on Thursday evening.
The Reds won the first leg 2-0 at Anfield and are in a great position to go through to the last eight.
Former United and Liverpool striker Owen has backed Jurgen Klopp’s side to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
“Liverpool arrive at Old Trafford with a two-goal lead after a comfortable defeat of United in the first leg at Anfield and should qualify with the minimum of fuss midweek,” the former England international striker wrote on Betvictor.com.
“I was commentating on United’s FA Cup quarter-final against West Ham at the weekend and was left far from impressed by Louis Van Gaal’s side, who needed a late goal from striker Anthony Martial to earn a replay at Upton Park.
“With their two-goal cushion the Reds should advance to the next round at the expense of their most fierce rivals.”
A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation; Both Teams to Score at 5/6 with BetVictor.”
An early goal for United at Old Trafford could make things tricky for Premier League rivals Liverpool, as the tie is only 2-0.
Although the Merseyside outfit are favourites to go through, Louis van Gaal’s side’s chances cannot be written off just yet.
However, if Liverpool score first or if the game is goalless at half time, then the chances are that United will get knocked out.
