Ian Wright poses an interesting question about Romelu Lukaku

Ian Wright suggests that Romelu Lukaku may not leave Everton in the summer transfer window.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has suggested in The Sun that Romelu Lukaku may not be looking to leave Everton in the summer transfer window.

Lukaku has been arguably Everton’s best player so far this season and is in great form at the moment.

The 22-year-old Belgium international scored both goals in the Toffees’ 2-0 victory over Premier League rivals Chelsea at Goodison Park in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup at the weekend.

Former Arsenal striker Wright was impressed with the ex-Chelsea youngster’s display on Saturday evening and named him as the ‘Player of the Weekend’ in The Sun.

The former England international has also questioned why Lukaku would want to leave in the summer transfer window, pointing at the new investment coming in from Iranian billionaire Farhad Moshiri.

“If that wasn’t enough, he followed up with a more conventional second, and you can see why he’s being spoken of as a top target for plenty this summer,” Wright wrote in The Sun while discussing the Everton striker’s second goal against Chelsea.

“But Everton will have the financial clout to resist and if this is a sign of what they are building, why would Lukaku himself want to go anywhere anyway?”

Lukaku has established himself as one of the best and most promising young strikers in the Premier League.

The former Anderlecht youngster has scored 18 goals and created 47 chances in 28 league matches for the Merseyside outfit so far this season.

While Everton are an ambitious club and there is new investment coming in, there is always the danger of bigger teams signing their players.

Would the Toffees or Lukaku be able to resist an offer from, say, Real Madrid, Manchester United or Manchester City?
