The Republic of Ireland international helped the Championship side seal a 3-0 win over Forest.
Gary Hooper has heaped praise upon Aiden McGeady after the winger put in his best performance since joining Sheffield Wednesday during their emphatic victory over Nottingham Forest at the weekend, the Sheffield Star reports.
The 29-year-old - who is on loan from Everton - opened the scoring with his first goal for the Owls in a game that Carlos Carvalhal's side would go on to win 3-0. And while the goal is sure to give the former Celtic man plenty of confidence, Hooper suggested that his all-round game was hugely impressive.
"It's nice for him to get out and play games," he told the Star.
"He took his finish well and played really well. He beat their right back quite a few times and it was a great performance from him."
Perhaps unsurprisingly, given the lack of opportunities he enjoyed this season at Goodison Park, McGeady has taken several weeks to adjust to life with the Championship club, but the performance against Forest suggested that he is starting to rediscover his best form. And as far as Carvalhal is concerned, he will be hitting form at just the right time in the campaign.
The victory consolidated Wednesday's position in the top six in the Championship. And after a five-game run without a win, the performance at the City Ground sent a message to those sides chasing them that they will need a sensational run to catch them, especially if their January signing is beginning to terrorise full-backs once again.
