Neil Lennon left Bolton Wanderers by mutual consent earlier today.
Celtic fans appear to be hoping that Neil Lennon won’t be returning to Parkhead any time soon, after he left Bolton Wanderers by mutual consent earlier today.
Lennon was appointed by Bolton back in October 2014, but he was unable to take the club forward, due to a backdrop of financial insecurity.
The Trotters have been continuously cutting costs under Lennon, leaving the 44-year-old’s hands tied throughout his time at the Macron Stadium.
Lennon leaves Bolton with the side sitting at the bottom of the Championship table, and looking destined to be relegated.
The former Northern Ireland international has now been instilled as one of the bookies’ favourites to take over from Ronny Deila at Parkhead.
Deila could be set to exit Celtic in the summer, with his contract expiring, and Celtic have been tipped to be considering re-appointing Lennon.
During his first stint with the Bhoys, Lennon won 159 of his 228 matches in charge, but most followers of the Scottish club are hoping that he does not return.
Celtic re-appointing Lennon would be a bad move. Worse than getting rid of Deila bad. Seriously.— Marc (@MarcJWallace) March 15, 2016
Neil Lennon had no challenge at Celtic and an impossible challenge at Bolton. Maybe he'll find a happy medium one day— Phil Gilman (@bookiemonster81) March 15, 2016
Replacing Ronnie Dalia with Neil Lennon simply isn't the answer , Celtic need to think bigger than that .— Paul Devanny (@goaliesbhoy) March 15, 2016
Lennon to Celtic would be the most stupid decision by the board they've ever made.— Séan Walsh (@walshybhoy) March 15, 2016

People have short memories re Neil Lennon and Celtic. Some absolutely shocking cup defeats in his time as manager. Barca was great obv. :)— Gerry Dewar (@gerryd72) March 15, 2016
I was delighted when Neil Lennon left Celtic. The Bolton fans are delighted he's left Bolton and they're the worst team in the world.— Paddy Mullaney (@paddybhoy19) March 15, 2016
Lennon back at Celtic wld be a mistake. Wouldn't have the motivation. We need a fresh start & dare I say it with a non "Celtic minded" setup— Scott Killen (@ScottKillen88) March 15, 2016
