Celtic fans react to Neil Lennon's sacking at Bolton Wanderers

Neil Lennon left Bolton Wanderers by mutual consent earlier today.

Celtic fans appear to be hoping that Neil Lennon won’t be returning to Parkhead any time soon, after he left Bolton Wanderers by mutual consent earlier today.

Lennon was appointed by Bolton back in October 2014, but he was unable to take the club forward, due to a backdrop of financial insecurity.

The Trotters have been continuously cutting costs under Lennon, leaving the 44-year-old’s hands tied throughout his time at the Macron Stadium.

Lennon leaves Bolton with the side sitting at the bottom of the Championship table, and looking destined to be relegated.

The former Northern Ireland international has now been instilled as one of the bookies’ favourites to take over from Ronny Deila at Parkhead.

Deila could be set to exit Celtic in the summer, with his contract expiring, and Celtic have been tipped to be considering re-appointing Lennon.

During his first stint with the Bhoys, Lennon won 159 of his 228 matches in charge, but most followers of the Scottish club are hoping that he does not return.
