The Israel international has been linked with a Premier League move.
The 24-year-old has established himself as a prominent member of the Hoops' team since his move from FC Ashdod in 2013, with Saturday's win at Partick Thistle representing his 100th appearance for the club in all competitions.
Despite extending his contract until 2020 back in November, speculation continued to mount shortly afterwards that the Israel international had courted interest from a number of English top-flight clubs, with his agent confirming the rumours (The Mail).
That being said, Deila has no intention of letting go of Bitton, whom he claims is perfectly happy to remain in the Scottish capital for a few more years yet.
"He's going to stay here, he signed a new contract," the Norwegian coach is quoted as saying by Inside Futbol. "He wants to stay here for more years and he's going to be an important player for Celtic."
It remains to be seen if Deila will have a decision over his future; not strictly because the board may overrule him should an attractive offer come in, but because the Bhoys boss might not be there himself to decide.
The Glasgow giants appear to be making very hard work of winning the Scottish Premiership - perhaps what could and should have been a one-horse race - as Aberdeen sit just one point behind the leaders.
That, coupled with their European struggles of recent years, is among the reasons why the 40-year-old could be gone this summer.
