Wolverhampton Wanderers supporters have admitted that David Davis put in an excellent performance against them for Birmingham City at the weekend.
Wolves and Birmingham played out a fiercely contested 0-0 draw yesterday and Davis stood out above the rest of the players on the pitch.
Davis came through Wolves’ academy system, but he left Molineux in 2014 to join Birmingham.
That switch has left a sour taste in most Wolves’ fans’ mouths and the central midfielder was not given a good reception yesterday.
Davis’s every touch was booed by Wolves supporters, but the 25-year-old responded to the hostile atmosphere by increasing his performance levels.
Davis’s energy in midfield was integral for Birmingham and he set the tone for the rest of his teammates.
Although Birmingham could not get the win at Molineux, they did dominate for much of the second half, and Davis was keen to build bridges with his former club’s supporters after the match.
Davis stated that he still loves Wolves on Twitter and the response he got was positive - from both Wolves and Birmingham fans. Here is the best reaction:
