Dimitri Payet comments on his wonder free-kick against Manchester United

The Frenchman was once again the difference for West Ham United on Sunday.

Dimitri Payet has admitted that his free-kick against Manchester United was one of the best of his career, in comments to BBC Sport.

The Frenchman was once again the star man for the Hammers on Sunday, as he curled in a delightful long-range free-kick to give his side the lead at Old Trafford.

It was the latest in a series of impressive goals from his this season, and made all the better given he did it past arguably one of the best goalkeepers in the world at present.

And he admits that it was certainly one of the best of his career, and it was a great day for him overall.

"I said to myself that even if I hit the free-kick well, right in a corner, with a goalkeeper like David de Gea it’s still difficult to score,” he told BBC Sport.

“I had a bit of luck in that it hit the post on the way in. It was one of the best free-kicks I've scored.”

“To score in this stadium which I think is one of the most beautiful in the league, it’s a great day for me."

Slaven Bilic’s side will now be hoping that Payet has more moments of magic in his locker in the remaining games this season.

He has certainly been the difference so far, and with them pushing for a top four place as well as FA Cup glory, they will need him at his best for the rest of this season.

His goal at Old Trafford certainly suggests he has no intentions of doing anything but that.
