Robbie Savage felt Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor was thoroughly outmatched by Leicester City livewire Jamie Vardy.
Leicester beat Newcastle United 1-0, with Shinji Okazaki netting the winner with a first half bicycle kick.
Former Premier League midfielder Savage felt Taylor simply did not know how to defend against the England international, whose movement asked questions of him.
Savage told BBC Sport: "Steven Taylor doesn't know what to do with Jamie Vardy. He doesn't know whether to go deep or stick with him. I would say they're missing Fabricio Coloccini, but he's been awful too."
Taylor did not win a single tackle, but made two interceptions and two clearances.
To his credit, Taylor was part of a defence which restricted Leicester to scoring just once and shut Vardy out, while he closed Riyad Mahrez down well late on to force him to shoot wide from distance.
Unfortunately it was not enough, with Leicester defending well themselves too and shutting out the Magpies, who had hoped for a better result under new manager Rafa Benitez, despite his limited training time with his new players.
