Former Derby County midfielder believes it is a good move.
Former Derby County midfielder Robbie Savage has given a thumbs up to Harry Redknapp's potential appointment as director of football at the club.
Derby made the announcement on their official website on Monday afternoon that the former Tottenham, West Ham, Portsmouth and QPR boss has held talks with the club about coming aboard in the role.
Redknapp would be working in an advisory capacity to current boss Darren Wassall, who stepped up from head of academy after Paul Clement was dismissed by Mel Morris.
Savage believes Redknapp joining the Rams would be a positive move, commenting via Twitter.
If @Redknapp is to go in at Derby , it will be a much needed appointment to help wassall with his lack of experience which was shown on sat— Robbie Savage (@RobbieSavage8) March 14, 2016
. @Redknapp with his experience will Defo help Derby in the run in , good appointment I if it happens— Robbie Savage (@RobbieSavage8) March 14, 2016
Derby let a three goal lead slip to draw with Rotherham United at the weekend, and the Rams face an unwelcome prospect of seeing their promotion chances fade away from a strong position entering the year for the second consecutive season.
Getting an extra voice into the management team, with huge experience like Redknapp, can help shake things up, and with a crucial derby upcoming against Nottingham Forest, the sooner it happens the better.
