Rangers fans react on Twitter to Kyle Lafferty's comments about possible Ibrox return

Kyle Lafferty says he wants a return to Rangers - but fans are torn on the idea.

Norwich City striker Kyle Lafferty told Belfast Live on Sunday that he would love a return to former club Rangers, and regrets his Ibrox departure.

Lafferty, 28, joined Rangers back in 2008 having impressed with Burnley, and hit 38 goals and 14 assists in 138 appearances for Rangers, winning three successive Scottish Premier League titles during his time with the Glasgow giants.

However, when Rangers suffered administrations and liquidation in 2012, Lafferty departed immediately, rescinding his switched contract with the new Rangers in order to join Swiss side Sion.

Spells with Palermo, Norwich and Caykur Rizespor have followed, but Lafferty is currently frozen out at Norwich, despite having scored seven goals in qualifying to fire Northern Ireland to the European Championships in France this summer.

Now, with his career stalling at Norwich, Lafferty has told Belfast Live that he would love to re-sign for Rangers - who are set for promotion to the Scottish Premiership this summer - and ultimately regrets the way in which he left Ibrox almost four years ago now.

Fans have been reacting on Twitter after reading those comments, and it's fair to say that the Rangers supporters are torn over whether they would want Lafferty back or not.

Many feel that the 6ft 4in striker would not be welcome back at Ibrox having turned his back on the club in their times of trouble, and also don't believe he would fit into Mark Warburton's style of play.

Others think that Lafferty would add more goals to the Rangers side, and showed enough during his first spell to suggest that he could still be an asset for the Gers moving forward.

Here are some of the reactions from Rangers fans on Twitter after Kyle Lafferty admitted he would like to re-sign for the Gers...
