Manchester City reportedly join race for Ousmane Dembele as Barcelona have £27m bid rejected

Manchester City are allegedly tracking one of the most sought after young wingers in Europe.

According to a report from France Football, Manchester City are interested in signing Rennes winger Ousmane Dembele, although they may have to break the bank to get him given that Barcelona have allegedly had a £27million rejected for the 18-year-old.

Dembele has been in sensational form for the Ligue 1 club in recent weeks, scoring four goals and providing two assists in his last three matches.

In total this season Dembele has found the net nine times and considering his age he is a very exciting talent.

The France Football report claims that Barcelona have seen a huge bid rejected by Rennes, who have the teenager contracted until the summer of 2018, and on that evidence it seems the French club know exactly just how talented the youngster is.

The report goes on to suggest that City are keeping tabs on the wide player and it will be interesting to see exactly who Pep Guardiola signs when he takes over at the Etihad Stadium in the summer.

There is little doubt the Spaniard will look to make changes at City this summer and Dembele is one of the most exciting wingers in Europe right now. But if it is going to take well over £30million to get him, that may be a risk too far in Guardiola’s first season at the Blues.
