Leeds United star Alex Mowatt becoming a must start?

Leeds midfielder showed why he is so highly rated.

Alex Mowatt produced a match winning display against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday by creating both goals as Leeds won 2-1 at Ewood Park.

The Whites have now won three consecutive games, for the first time in a year, including two back to back away victories.

Mowatt is really coming into form, laying on the passes for Sol Bamba and Mirco Antenucci to net against Rovers.

The England youth international now has three assists in his last four appearances, although the goal he laid on for Lewis Cook against Fulham was all his teammate's doing, who rocketed in a strike from 40 yards out.

Nonetheless the way the statistics are building up look good for Mowatt, who prior to February had registered only one assist all season.

He showed his talent earlier in the season with long range goals of his own against Cardiff City and Huddersfield, each of which led to Leeds picking up wins.

This campaign has been a difficult one for last year's player of the season, with a couple of niggling injuries hampering his playing time, while he has been picked in varying positions in midfield by both Uwe Rosler and Steve Evans.

There appears to be little option for Mowatt in a deeper role, and he has had to play behind the forward or out on the wing, but so long as he keeps on producing and looking like a danger from set pieces then he becomes a very difficult player for Evans to leave out.
