The businessman has been linked with potentially buying the Championship club in recent years.
Leeds United have announced on their official website that they have reached an agreement with Steve Parkin that will see his company, Clipper Logistics become the official sponsor of the East Stand at Elland Road.
Parkin - who is a lifelong fan of the Whites - has been linked with several reported takeover bids of the Championship club in recent years having been seen with current owner Massimo Cellino at some of the team's games, the Yorkshire Evening Post reports.
While the move is not the full takeover that some of the protesters who have been upset over how the Italian is running the club would have been hoping for, the added investment will surely be welcomed by Steve Evans as he turns his attention towards preparing for next season.
Three wins on the spin briefly took United into the top half of the table - though Wolves' draw the day after Leeds' win over Blackburn saw the two teams switch places - and alleviated any of the concerns that the fans may have had that Leeds' form could see them fall into a relegation scrap.
But with the top six still further away than the bottom three, Evans would be forgiven for allowing his attention to switch to preparing for a promotion push next term. And while the investment is unlikely to be significant enough to make a huge difference to their transfer budget, it may free up some funds that may help the boss meet any valuations for targets that were previously just out of reach.
