Harry Kane makes an honest admission about the extra challenges he's faced this season

Defence - Spurs v Chelsea

The Tottenham striker has been discussing some of the extra challenges he's faced this term.

Harry Kane says he has had to put up with defenders getting much tighter to the Tottenham Hotspur striker this season - even dealing with three defenders at a time trying to block his shots, according to the London Evening Standard.

The 22-year-old was phenomenal for the north London side last season but faced extra challenges when it came to reproducing that form this campaign.

It hasn't stopped the Tottenham man, of course, with Kane raising his standard and becoming even more important at White Hart Lane with no out-and-out striker able to deputise for him.

But the young forward has definitely noticed the increased effort from opposing defenders.

Kane is quoted as saying by the Standard: "Defenders get tighter this year. Whenever I get in a position to shoot, there are two or three people trying to block the shot.

"That's one of the little things I've noticed and I definitely see little differences from last season. But that's what it is like. "If you want to be a player scoring goals every year in the Premier League, you have to be able to cope with that."

Kane is currently joint-first in the top scorer charts, with the Spurs striker alongside Jamie Vardy on 19 goals for the campaign.

The 22-year-old has only registered one assist but his contribution naturally goes beyond simply scoring goals.
