Bellusci started the Championship game at Ewood Park and played for the entire 90 minutes, as the West Yorkshire outfit registered a 2-1 victory.
Former Leeds coach Abbott was impressed with the shift put in by the 26-year-old centre-back and spoke highly of the Italian on TV Yorkshire.
“Bellusci is in a different league in terms of his football ability," Abbott said on TV Yorkshire. "For somebody whose brain looks to be all over the place at times in terms of his temperament, his football brain, there’s not many better.
"He reads the game well, his organisation and man-management of the game is very, very good. He is a class act at the minute.”
Bellusci has featured in 22 Championship matches for Leeds so far this season, creating five chances in the process.
The former Catania man has a pass accuracy of 72% and a shot accuracy of 38%, and has won 31 headers, six dribbles and 42 tackles.
Against Blackburn on Saturday afternoon, the Italian has took one shot, had a pass accuracy of 75%, created one chance, put in one cross, won 50% of his tackles, and made two interceptions, five clearances and two blocks.
