Georginio Wijnaldum has expressed his determination to help Newcastle United pick up three points in Rafael Benitez’s first match in charge against Leicester City later this evening.
Benitez takes charge of the Magpies for the first time at the King Power Stadium, with Newcastle the outsiders to pick up the three points.
Leicester have been the stand-out team in the Premier League this season and they currently top the standings.
However, Wijnaldum is determined to help his side claim a much needed victory and he says that he looking forward to looking working with Benitez on a match day for the first time.
Benitez has been handed 10 games to save Newcastle from relegation and he inherits a squad terribly out of form.
The Tynesiders are stationed in 19th place in the Premier League table and they are yet to win an away match in 2016.
Leicester, meanwhile, have not been beaten in league action at the King Power Stadium since the turn of the year, meaning that Newcastle will have to upset the form guide if they are to pick up the three points later this evening.
If Newcastle can be victorious they will be guaranteed to move out of the relegation zone, and they will leapfrog both Norwich City and Sunderland.
