Freddie Ladapo scored a hat-trick on trial for Crystal Palace and now the club have a decision to make.
Have Crystal Palace just found the prolific striker they have been searching for?
The goal shy Eagles took non-league forward Freddie Ladapo on trial last week, and he stepped up to the plate big-time by scoring a hat-trick for their under-21 side against Watford on Monday night.
Ladapo, 23, began a short trial midway through last week, culminating in the match against Watford's under-21s.
HITC Sport understands the forward had one game to prove himself worthy of a deal, and now Crystal Palace have a decision to make.
It is hard to believe Watford were not impressed by the striker either as he led the Eagles to a 5-0 win, and so Palace could face competition if they do not act swiftly.
Who is Freddie Ladapo?
Ladapo plays for non-league side Margate, and has previously played for Colchester United and Kidderminster.
He signed for Margate last January and scored 22 goals in the calendar year of 2015.
Prior to that the Romford born striker scored 17 goals in 26 games for Grays Athletic during a loan spell.
The 23-year-old has continued his excellent form into the new year, helping Margate to key wins in 2016.
He attracted interest from Football League sides Dagenham and Redbridge and Stevenage Town in the recent transfer window among others, but none of them were able to match Margate's asking price.
While the transfer window is closed, Premier League clubs are permitted to make signings from non-league teams, meaning Crystal Palace could look at pushing through a deal right away.
