Everton striker Romelu Lukaku has scored 25 goals in 36 games this season.
Danny Murphy has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show on TalkSPORT, which was broadcast on 14th March, that Everton striker Romelu Lukaku can look clumsy, when he is not fully fit.
Lukaku has occasionally been criticised for showing a lack of work rate throughout his time at Goodison Park to date.
And Murphy feels that Lukaku’s cause is not helped by the fact that his touch can go astray, when the 22-year-old is not fully match sharp.
“The problem is with Lukaku, when he’s young, is that when he’s not quite fit or he’s tired, he can look a bit clumsy,” he said. "His touch is a bit off.
“But when he’s fit and sharp, and his touch is a bit tighter he’s such a threat.”
Lukaku’s fatigue issues could stem from the fact that he has been given a great amount of responsibility at Everton, despite still being very young.
Not many 22-year-olds across world football are required to play as regularly as Lukaku, who has racked up 38 appearances for club and country throughout the season so far.
However, even if Lukaku’s energy can sometimes come into question, his goalscoring record simply cannot.
The Belgian international has scored a staggering 25 goals in 36 appearances for the Toffees this term, and Murphy fears that one of the European giants could look to prize Lukaku away from Goodison Park in the summer.
“Yes, I think there’s a chance that he could go [to one of the biggest clubs in Europe],” the former Fulham midfielder said. “He’s got the lot.”
