West Ham midfielder makes a confident claim

West Ham United will face Manchester United in the FA Cup today.

West Ham United midfielder Mark Noble has told The Times that his side can finish in the top four of the Premier League this season.

The Hammers are fifth in the league table at the moment with 49 points from 29 matches.

The London outfit are just two points behind Manchester City, who are currently fourth in the standings and occupy the final Champions League spot.

Noble believes that West Ham can finish in the top four, but he has made it clear that he would rather win the FA Cup than clinch a Champions League spot.

“I believe we can finish top four,” the Englishman told The Times. “But if you ask me whether I’d lift the FA Cup or play in the Champions League, it would be lift the FA Cup.

“Winning silverware is what counts. The chances of us winning the Champions League if we get in it are very slim. But the chances of us winning the FA Cup, if we beat Manchester United, are pretty good.”

West Ham will take on Premier League rivals Manchester United away from home at Old Trafford in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup today.

The Hammers will fancy their chances of winning the game, especially as United are not in good form at the moment.

Clinching the FA Cup would be a massive success for West Ham, but they should also aim to finish in the top four.

The Champions League is the highest level in club football, and ending up in the top four could help the Hammers establish themselves a true force in English football in the coming years.
