Warren Barton’s one-word response when asked about Newcastle’s survival chances under Benitez

Newcastle United are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship.

Warren Barton has stated on social networking site Twitter that Rafael Benitez will keep Newcastle United up.

Benitez was appointed the Newcastle manager on Friday following the dismissal of Steve McClaren.

The former Liverpool and Chelsea boss has been appointed in order to keep the Magpies in the Premier League.

Newcastle are second from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment and are in real danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.

Former Newcastle defender Barton believes that Benitez will make sure that the club do not go down.

Newcastle have picked up just 24 points from 28 matches, just a point fewer than 17th-placed Sunderland, who have played a game more.

The Magpies will return to action on Monday evening when they take on Leicester City away from home at the King Power Stadium in the Premier League.

Benitez’s side will head into the game on the back of a 3-1 defeat to Bournemouth at St. James’ Park in the league.
