The report claims that scouts from as many as five Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Everton, will be in attendance to watch the duo as Bologna take on Inter Milan at the San Siro this weekend.
Diawara, 18, has been making plenty of headways in Italy this season and has begun to draw parallels with former Real Madrid holding midfielder Claude Makelele due to their similar playing style.
Born in Guinea, Diawara has made 27 Serie A appearances this season, averaging 2.3 tackles and 2.7 interceptions per league encounter.
With Arsenal lacking in defensive midfielders and Everton on the lookout for a long-term Gareth Barry replacement, it’s easy to see why the Premier League duo are keen on the player.
Yet Diawara is not the only youngster to be dominating the headlines in Bologna, as fellow midfielder Godfred Donsah has also picked up his fair share of recognition with a number of top displays.
The 19-year-old is more of a box-to-box type, chipping in with two league goals and two assists in 16 Serie A starts this season as Bologna look to finish the season on a high.
Italy has not often been the best place to find unearthed gems, yet there is some real talent cropping up this season and the Toffees under new ownership are wise to start competing for Europe’s best youngsters.
