Steve Evans raves about Leeds United midfielder Liam Bridcutt

Leeds United beat Blackburn Rovers 2-1 at Ewood Park yesterday.

Manager Steve Evans has told Radio Yorkshire that Liam Bridcutt loves playing for Leeds United.

The central midfielder is on loan at Leeds from Sunderland until the end of the season and there have been suggestions that that switch could be made permanent.

Evans certainly seems to think that Bridcutt is enjoying his time at Elland Road, and the 53-year-old had nothing but praise for the former Brighton & Hove Albion’s man performance in Leeds’ 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers yesterday.

“I think Liam Bridcutt is a top quality player who loves playing for this football club,” Evans said. “He leads by example, and his determination to win the game. I thought he was just sensational in the middle of the park.”

Bridcutt was Evans’ first signing at Leeds, and his performances so far have made him a fan favourite.

The combative midfielder has established his place in Leeds’ team, and he has racked up 21 appearances for them despite only joining in November.

Bridcutt is expected to be made available for transfer in the summer by Sunderland, as he seems to have no future at the Stadium of Light.

It would be somewhat of a surprise if Leeds were not interested in making the switch a more long term one, and Bridcutt has previously told the Yorkshire Evening Post that he would consider a move to Elland Road on a permanent basis.
