The Belgian striker proved to be the difference in a tight FA Cup clash at Goodison Park, as he got both goals late on to see his side into the semi finals.
The first of that double was easily the better as he shook off several Chelsea challenges on a jinking run into the Blues box before calmly finishing past Thibaut Courtois.
And among the many who were impressed were Shearer and Keown, who praised the striker for his goal while commentating on BBC Sport.
"We said at half-time that we wanted magic and we got it from Lukaku,” said Shearer.
“Pace, power, clinical. The goal was absolutely superb. It had everything rolled into one.”
"Lukaku was like a man-mountain, unbelievable strength and to have the finish he does, incredible. Power, strength, pace. It is all of the qualities he has in one,” added Keown.
Everton will now likely have to fight to keep their star man once the summer transfer window rolls around.
His performances this season have been sensational to say the least and numerous reports have already suggested that several big European sides are eyeing a move for him.
The Toffees have no desire, or indeed need to sell though, and all of their efforts will surely have to be used in convincing Lukaku that Goodison Park is the best place for him.
