Fantastic Mark Noble deserves England chance, says John Hartson

West Ham United midfielder Mark Noble deserves a chance for England this summer, John Hartson has told BBC Sport.

The Hammers captain has been in fine form this season, with a series of impressive performances for Slaven Bilic’s side.

Indeed, he has been key to them currently challenging for a Champions League place, something that has seen many call for him to be given his chance for England.

That could come in the next international break, and Hartson says the midfielder definitely deserves a chance after enjoying a superb campaign so far.

"Mark Noble is having the season of his life,” he told BBC Sport.

“Whenever I've seen him play he has been fantastic. He just sits in, intercepts the ball and keeps it nice and tidy.

"If he does not get an opportunity at this summer's Euros then he will never get a chance. Who else is there? Jordan Henderson has more experience but, yes, Noble deserves a chance for England."

When compared to the others competing for the places in England’s squad this year, there is no denying Noble deserves his chance.

Compared to the likes of Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Michael Carrick and Fabian Delph, there is no denying who has been the better player this season.

Indeed, the stats back it up, with Noble having outperformed them, as well as Tottenham’s Eric Dier, in several key areas so far.

Roy Hodgson is well known for sticking with a favoured group of players though, and that alone could see Noble miss out regardless of his performances.
