Chery dropped out of favour during Hasselbaink’s early games in charge and he was regularly overlooked.
However, the attacking midfielder has proved his class in recent weeks and he has now fully established his place in the starting line-up.
Chery scored in QPR’s most recent 3-0 win over Brentford, to take his total to four goals in his last six matches.
And Hasselbaink said: "Chery is enjoying himself in that role he is playing and he took his goal superbly. It was a really good day for us.”
QPR’s win over Brentford was highly impressive, and they have now collected three victories in their last three matches at Loftus Road.
The R’s seem to be progressing well under Hasselbaink’s stewardship and Chery has certainly benefitted from his leadership.
Chery has now scored eight goals in 33 appearances, during what has been a very productive first campaign at QPR.
QPR's win over Brentford has pushed them up into 11th place in the Championship table, nine points back from the play-offs.
