Pochettino raves about the Harry Kane quality most people take for granted

The Tottenham boss has been discussing the striker after a 2-0 win over Aston Villa.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino understandably heaped praise on Dele Alli and Harry Kane after the north London side's 2-0 win over Aston Villa.

However, the Argentine was measured in his post-match comments and highlighted important qualities of both, rather than fancy buzzwords and adjectives that carry little meaning.

Indeed, on Alli, Pochettino lauded his ability to think quickly.

And, with leading scorer Kane, the Tottenham head coach chose a quality many will take for granted - his hard work off the ball and not his goalscoring.

Spurs face Borussia Dortmund during their next clash - in the Europa League - and there will naturally be plenty of emphasis on Pochettino's decision to rest some of his best players during the first leg in order to beat Aston Villa.

In theory, the decision paid off. Critics, however, will argue that Villa should have been the game to rest his players in considering their form.

Domestically, though, there are no complaints for Tottenham and, if sacrificing a Europa League place to guarantee a Champions League one is Pochettino's strategy, that's his strategy.
