Leeds United win third game in a row - Seven years since they won four on the bounce

Elland Road

Leeds United will be looking to achieve the feat aginst Huddersfield Town next weekend.

Leeds United won again yesterday, defeating Blackburn Rovers 2-1 at Ewood Park.

The result, courtesy of goals from Sol Bamba and Mirco Antenucci, continued their recent winning run. Following on from wins v Bolton Wanderers and Cardiff City Leeds have now won three times in a row for the first-time since last February.

Next up is West Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town and Leeds will be hoping for another three points.

But when was the last time Leeds won four games in a row.

You have to go all the way back to 2009 to see the beginning of their last four game winning streak. Leeds defeated Accrington Stanley 2-0 in the Football League Trophy just before Christmas and followed it up with an impressive 1-0 win v Southampton in League One.

They then beat Hartlepool United and Stockport County in the league to make it four on the bounce.

In fact, they made it five. they famously beat Manchester United at Old Trafford at the start of 2010.

The Yorkshire derby next Saturday then should prove a big day for Leeds and if they can win their fourth game in a row for the first time in seven years then who knows? Play-offs?
