West Ham United take on Manchester United in the FA Cup later today.
Former West Ham United boss Glenn Roeder has suggested on the Weekend Sports Breakfast show on TalkSPORT, which was broadcast earlier this morning, that the Hammers can win the FA Cup and make it into the top four this season.
West Ham are currently just two points away from the Champions League qualification spaces, and they are putting big pressure on both Manchester City and Arsenal.
Slaven Bilic’s side also take on Manchester United in the FA Cup later today, as they look to book their place in the semi-finals of the competition.
And Roeder believes that his former side can pick up a successful result at Old Trafford, to make it to Wembley.
“I still fancy them for the cup, but I also fancy them to finish fourth in the Premier League the way they are going,” Roeder said. “The way West Ham are going they could end up being in the top four.
“I think they go to Old Trafford without fear. Too many teams have gone to Old Trafford and came away with great results. West Ham have to think worst case, we can take them back to Upton Park, or we can get a win.”
Current West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has already gone on record to state that he would rather win the FA Cup than qualify for the Champions League this season, meaning he is expected to play his strongest line-up later today.
The Hammers go into their game against the Red Devils in wonderful form, as they have lost just two of their last 19 matches.
West Ham have already beaten Wolverhampton Wanderers, Liverpool and Blackburn Rovers to progress to this stage of the FA Cup.
