Everton beat Chelsea 2-0 to book their place in the FA Cup semi final yesterday.
Manager Roberto Martinez has told the Liverpool Echo that he enjoyed a quick chat with new majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri before Everton’s FA Cup match against Chelsea yesterday, which they won 2-0.
Moshiri’s arrival at Goodison Park has created a great amount of excitement, as he is expected to invest a considerable amount of funds into the squad.
Martinez had previously not met with the Iranian billionaire, but the Spanish boss said that they had a brief chat before his side’s most recent outing.
"It was just more of a human meeting than a working meeting," Martinez said. "He has got a very powerful vision in business and real good ideas which come along with the vision we had with my chairman.
"He brings an incredible financial muscle and wants to get us back to where we were in the 1980s and win trophies.
"The way I see it is a perfect fit for our football club.”
The Telegraph suggested that Moshiri was not entirely convinced with Martinez’s management of the club recently.
The report claimed that Martinez’s future would be decided in the summer, but the former Wigan Athletic boss did his cause no harm yesterday.
