Former Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur star David Ginola suggested on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Friday morning (broadcast from 6am, March 11) that Leicester City will face a problem in their attempt to win the Premier League title this season.
“The only problem with Leicester is that they have got 11 players,” said Ginola. “Since the beginning of the season, Ranieri has the starting XI with the same names week in week out.
“That’s probably the only issue for Claudio Ranieri, knowing that except the starting 11 players, there is no depth in the squad.”
Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri has not tinkered with his team this season, and that is one of the main reasons behind their success.
The Foxes have not suffered with major injury issues either, and this has certainly helped.
Just like Ginola, many other Premier League observers will question Leicester’s ability to maintain their current form.
With Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal pushing the Foxes hard, the players will feel under pressure.
However, Leicester fans should be optimistic about Ranieri’s players not suffering a late collapse in the final weeks of the season.
The Foxes will return to action on Monday evening when they take on Newcastle United at the King Power Stadium in the Premier League.
