Aston Villa fans react on Twitter to Tottenham supporters' Lerner Out chants

Trinity Road Stand - Aston Villa

The Vila fans were grateful to their Tottenham counterparts, despite losing 2-0 to the north London side.

Aston Villa fans finally had something to cheer in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon. No, not a league point and, no, not a half-decent performance.

But Villa did receive plenty of support from the Tottenham Hotspur faithful in the Midlands, as fans joined in with chants against owner Randy Lerner.

Indeed, Spurs' traveling followers chanted 'Lerner Out' and 'Lerner for Arsenal' at Villa Park to put a smile on some of Aston Villa supporters' faces.

The game itself was another non-event from Remi Garde's point of view. The Villa players gave minimal effort and received minimal reward.

Tottenham only did what they had to, of course, stopping at 2-0 thanks to a Harry Kane brace.

But their fans were very vocal indeed, joining in with the Aston Villa faithful and making their feelings about Lerner clear in the stands!

Villa's supporters were grateful and expressed their thanks on Twitter both during and after the game...
