Sunderland and QPR fans react on Twitter to Steve McClaren sacking

QPR Mascot And Fans

Newcastle have finally sacked the 54-year-old ex-Derby County boss - prompting some reaction from rivals Sunderland... and former club Queens Park Rangers.

Newcastle United fans weren't the only ones with plenty to say about Steve McClaren's sacking on Friday afternoon.

Indeed, Derby County supporters had a lot of views to offer. And so too QPR and Sunderland.

McClaren was a member of Harry Redknapp's staff at QPR before he left and failed to get Derby promoted twice (and was then sacked by the Rams before now being dismissed by Newcastle).

Sunderland fans, however, have had more to say about McClaren's replacement with the Magpies. Some are fearful Rafael Benitez could ensure Newcastle stay up at the Black Cats' expense.

Others, though, would have been more scared had David Moyes got the job.

On a day when plenty of Newcastle and Derby fans were talking, then, here's what both QPR and Sunderland fans also had to say about McClaren (and Benitez) on Twitter:
