Leeds United head coach Steve Evans has been quoted as saying by the club’s official Twitter page that the team is better with Chris Wood in it.
Wood has recovered from his injury and started the Championship game against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday afternoon on the substitutes’ bench.
The 24-year-old former West Bromwich Albion and Leicester City striker came on as a substitute at Ewood Park in the 85th minute, as Leeds went on to win the match 2-1.
Evans has expressed his delight at the return to action of the New Zealand international striker.
Evans on Chris Wood: "It was good to get him on the pitch and play a little part. The group is stronger with him." #lufc— Leeds United (@LUFC) March 12, 2016
Wood’s recovery comes at a great time, as Leeds have gained some momentum of late.
The West Yorkshire outfit have won their last three Championship matches, and there is a chance that they could end up in the top 10 of the table this season.
The Whites will return to action next weekend when they take on Huddersfield Town at Elland Road in the league.
