The former sporting director signed Bamba for Leeds.
Leeds United took their great run of form into another game today, as they defeated Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.
The win was their third in a row after previous victories against Bolton Wanderers and Cardiff City - putting to bed the horrid defeat v Brighton.
The game saw Mirco Antenucci score again, continuing the Italian's green spell in front of goal. The other Leeds scorer however came as more of a shock.
Sol Bamba found the back of the net, smashing in a volley from a Alex Mowatt corner.
It was a goal that had plenty of Leeds fans over the moon, including a former director of football at the club.
Nicola Salerno, who now works for Watford, had a tumultuous spell at Leeds and brought in some questionable players.
But he was integral to bringing the Leeds captain to Elland Road from former team Palermo.
He was therefore very pleased to see the player score and sent this tweet in his direction:
How do you feel, tough guy? pic.twitter.com/x6BENeh5o3— Nicola Salerno (@NicolaSalernods) March 12, 2016
Bamba does not hit the back of the net often, this being just his third goal for Leeds. Hopefully he can add to that tally this season.
