Leeds fans react on Twitter to Mirco Antenucci's performance, comment on his contract

Leeds United beat Blackburn Rovers 2-1 at Ewood Park this afternoon.

Leeds United picked up a third win in a week today, as they beat Blackburn Rovers 2-1 in the Championship, taking them up to 12th place in the table.

The Whites, who beat Bolton Wanderers 2-1 at Elland Road last weekend and Cardiff City 2-0 in midweek, made it three wins in seven days with another strong performance.

Sol Bamba got the goalscoring started with a volley from Alex Mowatt's first half corner, and striker Mirco Antenucci added a second after half time with a deft finish.

Simeon Jackson grabbed a late goal for Blackburn to set up a tense finale, but the Canadian's strike proved to be little more than a consolation.

Striker Antenucci was praised for his performance yet again, having hit four goals in his last three games for Leeds, proving his worth to Steve Evans having been in and out of the side.

The Italian, 31, is out of contract at the end of the season, and there are clear doubts over whether he will be offered a new contract at Elland Road.

Fans reacted on Twitter after his performance against Blackburn, suggesting that he was one of Leeds' top performers on the day - and supporters want him to earn a new deal.

Most fans are keen to see Antenucci rewarded for his recent displays with a new deal, despite his advancing years, even if it's just one more year at Elland Road.

Here are some of the reactions from Leeds fans after Antenucci's performance against Blackburn on Saturday afternoon...
