Leeds United will not get relegated from the Championship, says Noel Whelan.

Noel Whelan has told BBC Sport (12:28) that Leeds United will certainly not get relegated from the Championship at the end of the season.

The former Leeds striker made the confident prediction before Saturday afternoon’s match against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.

“I think Leeds are definitely safe now,” Whelan told BBC Sport (12:28).

Leeds made it three wins in a row on Saturday afternoon, as they got the better of Blackburn 2-1 in the Championship.

The win means that the West Yorkshire outfit are now 12 points above the relegation zone. The Whites are indeed safe from going down to League One, and the challenge is now to finish in the top four.

Steve Evans’s side have gain some momentum, and they will be keen on maintaining it.

Leeds will return to action next weekend when they take on Huddersfield Town at Elland Road in the Championship.

Having got the better of Bolton Wanderers (home), Cardiff City (away) and Blackburn (away) in their last three league games, the Whites will be confident of picking up all three points against Huddersfield.
