West Ham goalkeeper Adrian says he would rather win the FA Cup than qualify for Champions League

The Spaniard is hopeful West Ham can do both.

West Ham United are having a great season and this weekend they face Manchester United in the FA Cup.

The Hammers go into the game on the back of four straight wins and ahead of Manchester United in the Premier League.

That form has seen many tip them to beat United this weekend and go all the way in the FA Cup.

Of course they are battling on two fronts. West Ham are currently only one point outside the Champions League places and are potentially on course for a memorable top four finish.

So which would they prefer.

Goalkeeper Adrian is in no doubt.

Speaking to Marca this week the Spanish goalkeeper made it clear that while he would love to take West Ham into Europe next season, winning the FA Cup would be a better feeling.

He stated:

"I would take the FA Cup because it is something that is forever in your track record and, in this case, gives you access to the Europa League.

"But we will not give up anything, I insist. It is the final season at Upton Park and we should give the fans a historic season to be remembered in the best way possible."

West Ham have never played in the Champions League and qualifying for European football's premier competition would give them a huge boost in the hunt for top talent in the summer.

However winning a cup final and collecting a medal is the type of memory and day that footballer's love for.

No wonder Adrian would rather lift the cup.
